Christmas Time in Dublin

O'Connell Street Christmas tree

Here we are, 13th December, festive season now firmly upon us and Christmas Day bit more than a week away. Ireland is not known for sunny skies or long days during the end of December, but what it lacks in sun, it makes up for with sparkling festive spirit.

Christmas in Dublin’s city centre is even bigger this year. Dublin City Business Improvement District has brought festive street lighting to 30 streets in Dublin City Centre, with 13 new streets alone added in 2011. That’s a total of 30 streets alive with the magic of Christmas! The sweet sound of everyone’s favourite Christmas songs can be heard everywhere and there are lots of events and activities on offer.

The Docklands Christmas Market

The Dame Street Christmas Market and The Docklands Christmas Market are still on until 23rd December. With Christmas Theatre and choirs, workshops and a puppet show a day visiting a Christmas Market would be a magical experience for everyone. Plus all of you, who have not finished your Christmas shopping – there is your chance!

Hopefully you will plan to spend your day in Dublin on Friday 16th December, because that’s exactly when you can unwind in our Rueben’s Restaurant with delicious food and live music by Jayro Gonzalez!
